The Chromgate Floor Mounted Fume Hood, commonly referred to as a Walk-In Fume Hood, is designed to accommodate large, tall, or floor-standing laboratory apparatus that cannot be conveniently installed inside a conventional bench-mounted fume hood.
Unlike standard bench-mounted hoods, the enclosure extends close to floor level, providing substantial internal height for large experimental setups, pilot-scale equipment, reactors, and other oversized apparatus.

Important Safety Consideration
The term “Walk-In Fume Hood” does not mean that personnel should enter the enclosure while hazardous processes are operating. The hood is intended to accommodate large equipment and apparatus.
Because floor-mounted hoods may have relatively large sash openings, airflow and containment performance must be carefully engineered according to the process, sash configuration, exhaust capacity, and hazard assessment.
