Auxiliary Air Laboratory Fume Hood
HSN Code: 841490

The Chromgate Auxiliary Air Fume Hood is designed for laboratories where reducing the amount of conditioned room air exhausted through the fume hood is an important consideration.

A controlled quantity of supplementary air is supplied near the hood face from a dedicated external air system. This auxiliary air contributes to the total exhaust requirement, potentially reducing the quantity of conditioned laboratory air drawn into the hood.

Working Principle
The system balances three principal air streams:

Auxiliary / Make-Up Air + Laboratory Room Air → Fume Hood Exhaust Air

Correct airflow balance is critical. Excessive auxiliary air can create turbulence around the hood opening and adversely affect containment.

Key Features:-

  • Dedicated auxiliary / make-up air supply
  • Reduced dependence on conditioned room air, when properly designed
  • Controlled negative-pressure exhaust operation
  • Balanced supplementary and room-air intake
  • Dedicated supply and exhaust ducting
  • Adjustable airflow arrangement
  • Optional airflow monitoring and alarm
  • Suitable for air-conditioned laboratories
  • Pre-filtered / conditioned auxiliary air can be provided according to HVAC requirements
  • Customized according to laboratory HVAC and exhaust requirements

Design Consideration
Auxiliary airflow should be carefully engineered and commissioned to avoid positive pressurization, turbulence, or disruption of containment at the hood face. The hood, room HVAC, make-up air, and exhaust system should therefore be considered as an integrated ventilation system.
