The Chromgate Auxiliary Air Fume Hood is designed for laboratories where reducing the amount of conditioned room air exhausted through the fume hood is an important consideration.
A controlled quantity of supplementary air is supplied near the hood face from a dedicated external air system. This auxiliary air contributes to the total exhaust requirement, potentially reducing the quantity of conditioned laboratory air drawn into the hood.
Working Principle
The system balances three principal air streams:
Auxiliary / Make-Up Air + Laboratory Room Air → Fume Hood Exhaust Air
Correct airflow balance is critical. Excessive auxiliary air can create turbulence around the hood opening and adversely affect containment.

Design Consideration
