High Purity Gas Purification Traps
HSN Code: 84219100
The Chromgate High-Purity Gas Purification Traps are designed for the purification of laboratory and analytical gas streams by removing specific contaminants such as moisture, hydrocarbons, and oxygen before the gas reaches sensitive analytical instruments.
These in-line purification traps help improve gas quality and protect sensitive components such as GC columns, detectors, valves, regulators, and other gas-line components from contamination. They are particularly suitable for Gas Chromatography (GC), GC-MS, and other analytical applications where high-purity carrier, make-up, and detector gases are required.
The purification traps are available in Moisture Trap, Hydrocarbon Trap, and Oxygen Trap configurations and can be installed individually or as part of a complete gas purification and control system.
1. Moisture Trap – Molecular Sieve 13X & Indicating Blue Silica Gel
The Chromgate Moisture Trap is designed to reduce moisture and water vapour present in compressed gas streams before the gas reaches sensitive analytical instruments.
The filter contains a combination of Molecular Sieve 13X and Indicating Blue Silica Gel, providing effective moisture adsorption and helping maintain a dry gas supply. The silica gel also provides a convenient visual indication of moisture loading where the media is visible.
Technical Specifications:-
Product Type: In-Line Moisture Trap
Filter Media: Molecular Sieve 13X and Indicating Blue Silica Gel
Nominal Filter Length: Approx. 11″, end-to-end
Inlet and Outlet Connections: 1/8″ or 1/4″
Installation: In-Line
Function: Removal / reduction of moisture and water vapour from compatible gas streams
Application: Carrier gas, make-up gas, detector gas, and other analytical gas lines
Gas Compatibility: Suitable for compatible gases according to system requirements
Configuration: Suitable for individual installation or integration into a Gas Purification & Control Panel
2. Hydrocarbon Trap – Activated Carbon
The Chromgate Hydrocarbon Trap is designed to reduce hydrocarbon and organic vapour contamination from laboratory and analytical gas streams.
The trap utilizes Activated Carbon / Activated Charcoal as the adsorption medium. Its high surface area helps adsorb hydrocarbon contaminants and other compatible organic impurities that may interfere with analytical measurements or contribute to elevated detector background.
It is particularly useful in gas chromatography applications where clean carrier, make-up, or detector gas is important for maintaining reliable analytical performance.
Technical Specifications:-
Product Type: In-Line Hydrocarbon Trap
Filter Media: Activated Carbon / Activated Charcoal
Nominal Filter Length: Approx. 11″, end-to-end
Inlet and Outlet Connections: 1/8″ or 1/4″
Installation: In-Line
Function: Reduction of hydrocarbons and compatible organic vapour contaminants
Application: Analytical carrier gas, make-up gas, detector gas, and compatible laboratory gas lines
Gas Compatibility: Depending on gas service and application requirements
Configuration: Standalone or integrated into a Gas Purification & Control System
3. Oxygen Trap (Oxytrap) – Chemical Catalyst
The Chromgate Oxygen Trap is designed to reduce trace oxygen contamination from compatible high-purity gas streams used in analytical applications.
The trap contains approximately 100 cc of chemically treated catalyst media, selected to react with or capture residual oxygen present in the gas stream. Removal of trace oxygen is particularly important in sensitive analytical applications because oxygen contamination can adversely affect certain GC columns, detectors, and analytical performance.
Technical Specifications:-
Product Type: In-Line Oxygen Trap
Filter Media: Chemically Treated Catalyst
Catalyst Quantity: Approx. 100 cc
Nominal Filter Length: Approx. 10″, end-to-end
Inlet and Outlet Connections: 1/8″ or 1/4″
Installation: In-Line
Function: Reduction of trace oxygen from compatible gas streams
Application: High-purity carrier gas and analytical gas purification
Gas Compatibility: According to catalyst chemistry and specified gas service
Configuration: Suitable for standalone installation or integration into a Gas Purification & Control System
Note: Actual purification efficiency, contaminant-removal capacity, outlet purity, maximum operating pressure, flow capacity, service life, and gas compatibility depend on the filter media, gas composition, inlet contaminant level, operating pressure, flow rate, temperature, and application. These parameters should be specified according to the selected filter configuration and actual performance data.
