Filtration & Shielding
HEPA filtration is not automatically appropriate for every radioactive application. Filtration should be selected according to whether the contaminant is particulate, gaseous, volatile, or another radioactive form.
Similarly, radiation shielding—such as lead or other shielding materials—should be determined by a qualified radiation-safety assessment based on the radionuclide, radiation type, activity, and process.
